Steel wire drawing machines come in many styles, such as accumulation, which can be of the overhead or double block types, the dancer arm form and the re-active type of straight -line machine, The latter two can be put in combination , particularly where the inlet size is large , say 12 mm and above . The overhead accumulation machine, which was the work horse for so many years, has one grave disadvantage, in that axial twist is imparted between blocks.
