TEST RESULTS WITH NEW ROTARY BENDING TEST MACHINE

Summary
A new rotary bending test machine has been developed at the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg (OTH Regensburg). It is a further development of the IFT Stuttgart type. The new testing machine allows for free adjustment of both the bending stress in the wire and the test length. This enables the testing of significantly thicker and considerably softer wires than previously possible. Shorter test lengths allow for a slightly higher number of rotary bending cycles but also lead to greater variation in the test results. Initial test results with the new rotary bending test machine are presented. The influence of the wire length on the number of rotations of bending can be derived from these test results.
