SPLICE TECHNOLOGY – THE DEVELOPMENT, TESTING AND SAFE USE OF TUCKED FIBER ROPE SPLICES ON SPECIFIC CONSTRUCTIONS

0.00

Summary

Although the first splices that were developed date back thousands of years, nowadays splicing is still the most common technique used to make end terminations in fibre ropes. Since the applications in which high-performance fibre ropes are used, are becoming more and more complex and demanding, proper long-term functioning of the splice becomes increasingly critical. The objective of this paper is to provide an overview on tucked splice types and  the best ways to test them and how to assure a safe and long-term reliable usage.
