The proposal of wire-rope endurance checking methods to replace the traditional static safety coefficient method, has been the main theme at the Round Table meeting held in Luxembourg(°) and it must be viewed in the framework of the tendency towards the evolution of safety criteria and calculation methods in the different fields of technology.
